My favourite smoothie recipes

If you are someone who can’t seem to find the time to make a healthy breakfast, then this post is for you. Smoothies are a great way to eat/drink a healthy meal or snack, that doesn’t require hours in the kitchen to prepare. In fact, smoothies can take all of two minutes to whip up and when using the right ingredients, they can provide your body with all its required nutrients of good carbs, good fats and protein. I also like to add in some of my favourite superfoods, or sneak in some vegetables for an extra nutrient boosting kick. If you are new to the whole smoothie craze or don’t quite know how to get the ingredients right, then here are a few of my favourite recipes. These smoothies are straight out of my F.I.T. programs, taste delicious and only take a few minutes to make.

GREEN SMOOTHIE
SERVES 1

INGREDIENTS
1 cup of baby spinach
1 tbsp. of chia seeds
1 scoop (30g/1.1 oz.) of natural protein powder (whey or vegan friendly) vanilla
½ cup of coconut water
½ cup of diced pineapple, frozen
½ cup of raspberries, frozen
½ cup of unsweetened almond milk
3 florets of broccoli

DIRECTIONS
1. Combine all ingredients and ice into a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy.
2. Enjoy!

BERRY SUPERFOOD SMOOTHIE

SERVES 1

INGREDIENTS
½ cup of blueberries, frozen
1 tbsp. of acai berry powder
1 banana, frozen
1 cup of unsweetened almond milk
1 tsp. of chia seeds
2 tbsp. of plain Greek yoghurt
1 scoop (30g/1.1 oz.) of natural protein powder (whey or vegan-friendly) vanilla

DIRECTIONS
1. Combine all ingredients and ice into a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy.
2. Enjoy!

CHOCOLATE CARAMEL SMOOTHIE
SERVES 1

INGREDIENTS
1 banana, frozen
4 organic pitted dates
6 natural almonds (option: natural hazelnuts and walnuts)
1 scoop (30g/1.1 oz.) of natural protein powder, vanilla or chocolate (whey or vegan-friendly)
3/4 cup of unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp. of raw cacao powder

DIRECTIONS
1. Place all the ingredients into a blender.
2. Blitz until smooth and enjoy!
