Extreme sports

There is a whole world out there full of exciting landscapes and stunning scenery, and what better way to get out there and see it all than by participating in some sporting adventures?

By definition extreme sports incorporate any adventurous activity that involves an element of inherent danger. They are popular worldwide and include sports such as parkour, obstacle courses, deep sea diving, sky diving and even triathlons are considered an extreme sport.

If I were to list all sports or activities that come under this category then we could be here all day. The ones I would like to have a look at are those outdoor sports that not only require strength and endurance of the body and mind, but also take you out into this amazing world to experience some of the beauty it has to offer.

Skiing/ Snowboarding - These fast paced sports require a combination of strength, flexibility, balance and skill to master. Popular worldwide, they require a thick layering of snow and depending on your skill level, a downward slope and obstacles. Some of the most popular (and stunning!) places to ski include:

  • Alaska

White water rafting/kayaking - These two adrenaline fuelled sport vary in levels of difficulty depending on the river, or section of river you chose. One works as a solo challenge (kayaking) whilst the other requires you to work as part of a team to safely guide your raft between jagged rocks, over waterfalls and amongst churning white water. They both target the muscles of the core and upper body, requiring strength of the torso, shoulders and arms. Some of the most beautiful rivers you can visit to participate in these sports are found in:
