Do you ever get so stressed out or frustrated with work, kids, friends or life in general, that you felt like you might explode with the tension? Sounds like you need to vent!
Medical studies show that a buildup of stress in our lives can have a serious impact on our health, so finding ways in which you can relieve some of that stress is important for protecting your well being.
How about getting creative? There is nothing quite like getting covered in paint as you whip up your own masterpiece of colours, or getting your hands dirty as you sculpt clay into your vision, or using anything you can find to craft decorations and other nik naks.
Don’t think art is your forte? Not to worry, art isn’t exclusively for the insanely talented, it is for everyone. Art, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. So basically anything goes!
Art can be described as an expression of the artist's feelings, emotions and imagination in a way in which can be appreciated or observed by others (though don’t worry, you don’t have to share it with others if you don’t want to!) It can take many forms, from painting, sketching, sculpting and photography, to singing, dancing, acting and fashion.
It is an excellent way of expressing yourself, as well as clearing and focusing the mind. It stimulates brain function, including creativity, cognition, hand eye coordination and also lowers the level of cortisol (the stress hormone) in your body.
So if you need a new stress outlet, why not pick up a paintbrush or grab the scissors, and vent in the form of art!
