Why you should be eating dark chocolate

Not all chocolate is created equal… This is why I can say to you with conviction that some chocolate can actually provide you with worthwhile health benefits! Here are just some of the reasons you can justify grabbing a delicious block of dark chocolate when you are next doing your grocery shop!

Stimulates brain function - Cocoa contains stimulants including caffeine and theobromine, which will give you a fairly instant energy and alertness kick, however in the longer term cocoa also contains high levels of flavonol which improve blood circulation to the brain which can work to enhance its capacity.
     
  7. Protects your skin - The flavonols found in cocoa can actually help protect against the sun by improving blood flow to your skin which works to increase skin density and hydration levels.

Of course most chocolates, even the good quality dark chocolates, still come with a high sugar content, so it is best to enjoy it in moderation!
