Wrinkles and fine lines are something we all collect over the years as we laugh, frown, and enjoy our days out in the sun.
Nowadays there are many new medical ways of reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, however, they are not natural, nor are they cheap!
So for those of you who prefer to keep it natural, and save your cash, here are some simple tips to help you avoid fine lines and reduce the appearance of wrinkles:
Don’t smoke - I cannot stress this one enough! Smoking will age your skin years in advance. Not just around your lips, but your whole face and body will prematurely age with smoking.
Protect yourself from the sun - Even though we all need our boost of vitamin D, too much sunshine, especially when it is summer and the UV rays are extra strong, damages your skin. Remember to cover up, wear sunscreen (or foundation/moisturiser with sunscreen) a hat and sunglasses to help protect your skin and keep it looking and feeling fabulous!
Sleep on your back - Creasing your skin by lying with your face pressed into a pillow might not make much difference every now and then, but over time it causes fine lines and wrinkles to appear. Try sleeping on your back to help prevent fine lines and wrinkles.
Nutrient-dense diet - Fresh foods rich in antioxidants, vitamins A and C, as well as foods rich in Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA) will all help keep your skin looking and feeling firm and wrinkle free.
Moisturise - Keeping your skin hydrated and moisturised will keep it looking plump and fresh as opposed to dry and lined. I like to opt for a moisturiser that is free from parabens, petrochemicals and other nasty additives that are bad for my body. You can find a wide range of affordable, natural moisturisers in any of your leading supermarkets or chemists.
- Stay hydrated - Ever noticed how after a big night you seem to look a little more withered the next day? This is usually because dehydration increases the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. So remember to stay hydrated and drink plenty of fresh water.
