5 fun-filled ways to improve your health

Being active is a great way to keep your body healthy and your mind happy, which is why incorporating enough exercise into your weekly schedule is so important. However, you don't have to spend all of your time at the gym! There are so many great ways that you can incorporate a little more exercise into your lifestyle, that won’t leave you feeling like you are compromising your free time!

Dance: This has to be one of my favorites! In fact, I often enjoy a little freestyle dance after one of my workouts, when I have my music pumping and my endorphins flowing! It doesn’t matter if you feel like you have two left-feet, or if you are an accomplished performer, dancing comes in all different styles (including my favorite: freestyle!), and you are bound to find one that suits you. So whether you join a specialty dance class, such as a salsa or hip-hop class, go to the club with your friends, or just put on some tunes at home and go wild shaking your ‘groove thang’, dancing is an excellent form of exercise that will get your heart pumping and your muscles moving!

Explore Nature: We live on an incredibly beautiful planet, with so much nature to explore. The best part of exploring nature is that all the fun activities, such as hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and scuba diving, are also fantastic ways of exercising your body!

Join a sports team: If you want to add a weekly activity that will improve your health, keep you accountable, improve your skills and enable you to socialize and meet new friends, then maybe you should consider joining a local sports team? There are so many to choose from, such as netball, soccer, Oztag, dodgeball, hockey, and rowing, that you are bound to find something that peaks your interest!

Try a new class: Another way of adding an activity to your weekly workout plan is joining a new class. Have a look and see what's available near you, you might find a martial arts class, a yoga or Pilates class, a spin class or even a gymnastics class. Challenge your body in new ways by finding something you haven’t tried before. You never know, you might just find your new favorite type of exercise!

Find a walking buddy: I personally love walking, especially if it is exploring nature or new areas. However, walking can be that much more enjoyable when you have a great friend along with you. That way you can encourage each other to keep up the pace, as well as have some great laughs along the way!
